Forty-three persons were arrested and two were ceased following an operation conducted last Saturday at a local nightclub.
Police reported that shortly after 1a.m., a team of officers from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant at a nightclub located on Wulff Road, where they discovered two illegal handguns.
A total of 39 adult males and four adult females were arrested and taken into custody for questioning in reference to the discovery.
The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, was under the Command of Chief Superintendent Kendall Strachan.

Minor Arrested
Police in the capital have arrested a 15-year-old male for the possession of a handgun and ammunition last Friday.
Reports are that shortly after 11a.m., police were on patrol in the area of the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, where they saw the young man acting ‘suspiciously’. After conducting a search of the suspect, police officials found a handgun along with seven rounds of ammunition in his possession.
The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court this week to be formally charged.
Police Investigates Bay’s Death
Police are currently investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a one-year-old baby boy who was brought to the Princess Margaret hospital dead shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death while the infant’s mother and stepfather are in custody assisting police with their investigations into this matter.
