Another American resident was arrested in The Bahamas on gun and drug possession charges.
Police on Tuesday arrested a 57-year-old Massachusetts man accused of threatening to shoot a female friend while onboard a sailboat moored off Nassau Harbour shortly before 4:00 p.m.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the report was made, according to authorities, who also reported that a search of the man’s 40 foot sailboat later revealed a quantity of marijuana.
Police also confiscated a handgun along with 145 rounds of ammunition.
This is the fourth American to be arrested in the past three days on similar charges.
On Sunday, a U.S. couple was taken into custody after failing to declare firearms and ammunition.
Randal and Traci Tim were subsequently charged with failure to declare two of the five firearms found in their possession and fined $5,000.
Their cruise permit for travel within the territory of The Bahamas was also canceled and a seize order was placed on their vessel for three days.
Furthermore, all the weapons were confiscated and condemned.
Meantime, a 41-year-old Georgia resident is expected to be charged sometime this week for drug possession.
