Police in Grand Bahama are searching for two men who they believe stole just over $2,000 from a man yesterday.
According to police, just after 1:00 a.m. Wednesday, a man was reportedly on East Atlantic Drive when he was approached by two men whom he described as being 6’1” in height with light skin and wearing a blue hoodie and the other he described as standing at 5’10” in height wearing a dark-colored hoodie and armed with a handgun.
He reportedly ran upon seeing the perpetrators and as a result was shot in the leg.
The man was then searched and robbed of $2,100 and then the men fled the area.
The victim was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle where he is listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, sometime around 7:30 Tuesday night police in New Providence were called to Lightbourne Avenue in the Farrington road area, where they saw two men who reported that while walking they were accosted by two other men who were armed with handguns and had pieces of cloth tied over their faces.
The men reportedly robbed them of their cash, jewelry and cell phones.
Shortly after the incident, police acting on information from members of the public went into Rock Crusher where they arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the incident.
