Jeffery Johnson, a 64-year-old fashion designer, was found dead last Friday at his home on ninth Terrace, off Collins Avenue.
According to police, shortly after 6:30 a.m., they received a report of a building fire off Collins Avenue.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they met the building engulf in flames.
The fire was extinguished and upon entering a one-bedroom efficiency attached to the building, the officers found Johnson’s lifeless body lying in the bathtub of with injuries to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are asking members of the public to come forth with any information they may have regarding this incident.
Investigations are ongoing.

Man Shot Dead While Sitting on a Truck
Police are requesting the public’s help in locating the suspect responsible for a shooting incident that left a man dead yesterday.
According to reports, shortly after 1:30 a.m., a man was sitting on the rear of a truck while leaving a club located at East Street and Gibbs Corner, when a male armed with a handgun walked up to the truck and shot him in the chest before fleeing on foot.
The driver of the truck rushed the man to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
Shootout with Police Leaves One Dead
Quick action by police resulted in the arrest of two suspects who opened fire at them and the fatal shooting of another suspect who also opened fire on police.
According to reports, around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of gunshots being heard in the Fort Fincastle and Mason’s Addition area.
A team of officers including officers from the police saturation patrols responded.
Upon arrival in the area, four male suspects armed with firearms confronted the officers and opened fire on them.
The officers returned fire striking one of the suspects fatally and recovered a Glock Pistol from him.
Another suspect was arrested on the scene after the officers recovered an AK – 47 assault rifle that he dropped to the ground.
The two other suspects fled on foot. Police gave chase and caught one of them. The other suspect is being sought.
Investigations are ongoing.
Man and Woman in Custody for Human Trafficking
Police are reporting that a 37-year-old Bahamian man of Poets Drive, Sea Beach Estates is in custody for questioning in reference to trafficking in persons.
Officers from the Missing and Exploited Persons Section of the Central Detective Unit took the man into custody at the Lynden Pindling International Airport on Saturday.
The man is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
Police are also reporting that a 36-year-old Bahamian woman of Sunset Meadows off Cowpen Road is in custody for questioning in reference to trafficking in persons.
Officers from the Flying Squad took the woman into custody on Friday May, 15.
The woman is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
