Duo Arraigned For Whit Monday Murders

Twenty-two year-old Carlon Rolle and 18-year-old Sean Higgs were arraigned for the double murder on this past Whit Monday holiday.

Police believe the men, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez in court number one Friday afternoon, are responsible for the deaths of 40-year-old Amati Knowles and 19-year-old Oudrick Telisma.

Knowles and Telisma were killed just after 12:30 p.m. on May 20 following a shootout in Kemp Road just north of Parkgate Road.

The charges for Rolle and Higgs did not end there.

They were also both charged with the attempted murders of Anthony Roache, Larnado Wilson and Arlington Stubbs.

Rolle, a resident of Price Street and Higgs, a resident of Peardale, were also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, namely a spikes tactical .223 m4 rifle as well as possession of ammunition – six .223 live bullets.

The men were not required to enter pleas to the charges and were also not eligible for bail.

Chief Magistrate Gomez told them they would be remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons until June 27.

At that time a voluntary bill of indictment is expected to fast track the case to the Supreme Court.

The men were represented by attorneys Ian Cargill and Devard Francis.
