A 26-year-old Exuma man who allegedly struck and killed a Canadian couple in a hit-and-run incident last month will be charged in court early next week.

St. Catherine’s, Canada residents Ronald Gandza, 57 and his 54-year-old wife Jill Marie Gandza, were walking along Queens Highway when they were struck by the driver of a gray 2000 Nissan Sunny.

Police said the driver failed to remain on the scene.

The husband was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife died at a local clinic.
