Another law enforcement officer was arraigned on charges for his alleged involvement in the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) store robbery.
Royal Bahamas Defense Force officer Darrion Miller, 32, along with his girlfriend Stephanie Jones, 25, both of Baillou Hill Road, were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes to face shop breaking, stealing from a shop and receiving charges.
Last week Monday two former Royal Bahamas Defense officers, Ricardo Bain and Herman Pinder pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing three Samsung Galaxy J1 cell phones after being called to respond to a breaking at the store on John F. Kenny Drive, in the RND plaza.
The two constables were ordered to pay a fine of 3,000 by last week Friday or spend 18 months behind bars.
Allegedly, both Miller and Jones stole $10,023.44 in cash, 50 cellphones, $9,098.76 in cheques and a steel safe valued at $2,000.
On the charges of receiving, it is alleged that the couple also received three Samsung J5 mobile phones at a value of 623.22 and one LG G$ valued at $542.18 sometimes between April 28 and 29.
Both pleaded not guilty to all charges.
They were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until July 4 at 10 a.m.
Miller also faced a separate charge of stealing by reason of employment and pleaded not guilty her separate charge. Allegedly on February 21 she stole from Esso On-The-Run gas station on Prince Charles a total of $90 to which she gained access to due to her employment.
