A bicyclist was struck by a car on Tonique Williams Darling Highway Saturday and later died in hospital, police have confirmed.
Police said the victim was on his bike around 4:25 a.m. near Workers House when the driver of a Ford Mustang hit him.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to hospital where he died.
Police are encouraging cyclists who move about at night to wear reflective clothing such as jackets, vests and pants and to ensure that their bikes are outfitted with a functional headlight and rear light.
Police said failing to remain at the scene of an accident is an offence which carries a fine of between $500 and $1,000.
Police will conduct an official identification today.
Police Looking For Murder Suspects
Police are searching for 26-year-old Jeffrey King aka “Bongo” of Nicholas Court, Yellow Elder Gardens and 26-year-old Trevor Gaitor aka “Nick” also of Yellow Elder Gardens.
The men are wanted in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Jasnell Roberts.
Roberts was shot in the head in front of his Carmichael Road home back on September 4 while playing dominoes.
Both suspects are described as having dark brown complexion and slim build.
King is 5’4” tall while Gaitor is 5’8” tall.
