Consistent leadership efforts, work ethic and passion for Baha Mar have paid off for two of the resort’s employees.
Finance executives Vaughn Roberts and Jeffrey Ballew have been promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance and Corporate Alliances and Vice President, Project Finance and Procurement respectively.
Mr. Roberts first joined Baha Mar in 2006 after completing undergraduate studies in accounting at Florida International University (FIU) and receiving a Masters degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2001 he earned an MBA degree in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
His professional experience comes from various investment banking and accounting positions at firms in the United States and the United Kingdom including KPMG, Lehman Brothers and Dresdner Kleinwort.
Additionally, Roberts was Managing Director of the Downtown Nassau Partnership.
In his new role as Senior VP, Mr. Roberts will be an integral part of establishing key partnerships and alliances with retail, restaurant and other groups that will enhance the Baha Mar experiences. He also manage the financial reporting, planning and analysis and treasury functions.
As Baha Mar’s new VP of Project Finance and Procurement will, Mr. Ballew will be responsible for project financial reporting and controls in addition to project financial forecasting and analysis, accounts payables, and procurement.
Mr. Ballew joined Baha Mar in 2011 as Financial Director of Project Reporting and has successfully led a team of Baha Mar finance professionals in support of the resort’s development and construction works.
He has 20 years of experience in various finance positions at Walt Disney Imagineering, a unit of the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts segment of The Walt Disney Company, and was a key finance leader for numerous Walt Disney World Resort projects in Florida, Hong Kong Disneyland, and various Walt Disney Imagineering divisions, programs and initiatives.
Mr. Ballew holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in applied sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and earned an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
