Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Fred Mitchell went to New York yesterday to address to the United Nations as part of a high level thematic debate on the relationship between the United Nations and the CARICOM region.
Mitchell will be filling in for Prime Minister Perry Christie and he will deliver an address to the UN today.
Following the address, the minister of foreign affairs will leave New York and head to Trinidad and Tobago where he will again fill in for the prime minister at a Commonwealth sponsored University of the West Indies forum on the future of the Caribbean.
That address will take place on Tuesday.
Mitchell will return to Nassau on May 7.
