The remaining suspects believed to have been involved in that brazen daytime burglary that tragically ended with one of the suspects being killed by police had their day in court on Friday.

Ranardo Brennen, 22, of #21 Armbrister Street and 25-year-old Jason Elvis Bain of #15 Jasmine Gardens stood before Magistrate Samuel McKinney and were charged with one count of housebreaking and one count of stealing, and two counts of receiving.

It is alleged that they would have broken and entered into the home of Latoya Forbes at Sixth Street Fox Hill on October 2.

The men would have reportedly taken a number of electronics, jewelry and other items, all property of Latoya Forbes.

It was on Thursday, when police officers responded to a call regarding a burglary in progress in the Prince Charles drive area.

Officers after arriving on the scene met three males in a vehicle nearby.

Brennen and Bain were arrested but the other male ran from police into a bushy area near Commonwealth Bank.

The suspect reportedly attempted to stab the inspector who in return shot the man to the head.

This prompted the Commissioner of Police Ellison Greenslade to host a press conference to address the matter.

He assured that an independent investigation by Her Majesty’s Corner was underway into the shooting and he also issued this warning to suspects who attempt to attack a police officer.

“I’m prepared to tell you, police officers will execute their duties, I’ve said to the public you cannot attack a police officer with an edge tool with a dangerous weapon with an illegal gun and expect that a police officer is going to retreat and allow you to take over The Bahamas, that is not going to happen,” he said.

In court, Bain pleaded not guilty to all of the charges, meanwhile Brennen pleaded guilty to count three for receiving.
The matter has been adjourned to next week Friday for bail to be considered and for the prosecution to determine if they would accept Brennen’s guilty plea.

Both men were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.
