The marijuana plants that police found in Grand Bahama over the weekend are worth $40 million.

Police also said that they found an assortment of ammunition in the fields as well.

According to reports, police discovered the 30 marijuana trees on Friday during an early afternoon patrol in east Grand Bahama on the northern side of the Grand Bahama Highway.

On Saturday, Assistant Commissioner of Police Emrick Seymour led a team of officers back to the area, including officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) where the trees were removed from the site.

ACP Seymour said the field was clearly organised as the field had a water hole to ensure that the plants had access to water.

According to the police, the trees ranged in height from one foot to 11 feet.

Police have not made any arrests yet, but DEU officials are continuing their investigations and are following several leads.
