The homicide count got closer to 50 Saturday after homicide detectives responded to two separate incidents which resulted in the death of three people.
This takes the homicide for last week alone to eight.
In the first incident, two people were found burnt beyond recognition inside a vehicle off Carmichael Road.
According to reports, around 6:30 p.m. police received information of a bush fire through an unpaved road west of Bacardi Road.
Firefighters responded and met a Dodge vehicle along with bush burning.
Upon extinguishing the blaze, officers found the charred remains of the two people.
Police are investigating and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information that can assist them in arresting the perpetrators to contact them anonymously.
Meanwhile, police are questioning two men in connection with a recent shooting incident that has resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man.
The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 p.m.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased was walking through a track road through Thompson Lane, along with a man and a woman when the incident occurred.
The victim received multiple gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Acting on information officers from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) and the Selective Enforcement Team (SET) proceeded to Sunlight Village off East Street where they arrested the men and confiscated a handgun.

These homicides come on the tail end of a blood week for police after two homicides on the Whit Monday holiday and two on Wednesday.
On May 20, 17-year-old Odrick Telisma and 40-year-old Amati Knowles were gunned down following as shootout in Kemp Road just north of Parkgate Road.
Two men were arraigned in connection with those deaths in court on Friday.
On Wednesday, 21-year-old Dwight Smith was killed in Excellence Estates while 42-year-old Javon Glinton was killed while standing in front of a home on Cordeaux Avenue.
