An indecent assault charge lands a 30-year old male in jail, following his arraignment in the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Standford Stubbs, of Sandilands Village, appeared before Magistrate Cara Turnquest-Deveaux and was charged with one count of indecent assault, contrary to section 17(1)(A) of the Sexual Offenders Act.
It is alleged that Stubbs on Wednesday July 3, 2019, while at Tea Bay, Cat Island, did indecently assault a 13-year-old girl.
He was not required to enter a plea to the charge and was subsequently remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections as the magistrate has no jurisdiction to grant him bail.
Stubbs returns to court on September 10 for service of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).
