Police have arrested the suspect who they believe behind the murder of a deacon who was gunned down at a bank’s ATM early Sunday morning.
Deacon Ivan Cleare of New Bethlehem Baptist Church, was found shortly after 8:00 a.m. yesterday inside the ATM booth of the Scotiabank on Jerome Ave.
When officers arrived on the scene, he was found lying on the ground lifeless with gunshot wounds to the body.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
A short time later, the Royal Bahamas Police Force issued a wanted bulletin showing surveillance footage of his alleged assailant.
When arrested police also found a handgun in the suspects possession.
Police launched and intense investigation that led to the arrest of the male suspect Sunday afternoon.
Additionally police found a handgun in the suspect’s possession. Investigations are ongoing.
Police are urging the public to come forward with any information they may have in regards to this matter.
