Two people were arrested over the weekend for the possession of dangerous drugs in two separate incidents.
In the first incident, on Friday, an employee of the Sir Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) was taken in to police custody for cocaine.
According to reports, around 1:00 p.m., airport authority security officers conducted a routine search of a water truck at the entrance of a ramp on airport grounds.
The security officers uncovered 4 ½ ounces of cocaine hidden in the truck.
The officers then notified police and shortly thereafter, the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Investigations are ongoing.
In the second incident, a Ft. Lauderdale woman was arrested on Saturday for the possession of marijuana.
Reports are that shortly after 6:00 p.m., officers from the Tourism Policing Unit conducted a search of a suspicious female visitor at Prince George Wharf and found a quantity of marijuana in her possession
The suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Investigations into both matters are ongoing.
