The two people arrested in connection with Sunday’s multi-million dollar drug haul in Grand Bahama have been jailed.
Michael Calixe, 49, of #1 Bayshore and Midshipmen Road and Marvin Bridgewater, 36, of #33 Fiddlers Green were yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Andrew Forbes on possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply and conspiracy to possess dangerous drugs with intent to supply.
The men were arrested on Sunday after officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) searched a home on Bayshore and Midshipmen Road and an Isuzu truck and found 102 kilos of cocaine.
Further investigations led police to another home on Fiddlers Green where they discovered four large coolers with 56 taped packages of suspected marijuana.
The drugs have an estimated street value of over $3 million, according to authorities.
Both suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges and were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons (HMP) until August 9 for trial.
