Quick action by police on saturation patrol has led to the arrest of two 26-year-old men who abducted a woman early Sunday morning.
According to reports, shortly after 1:30 a.m., a woman was walking on Dunmore Street, off Market Street, when two men forced her into a silver Honda vehicle and sped off.
A short while later, police on patrol spotted the vehicle on Collins Avenue. Upon seeing the seeing the police, the suspects forced the woman out of the vehicle and sped off.
A chase ensued and ended when the vehicle crashed on Chesapeake Road. The two suspects fled on foot and were later captured in the Kemp Road area by police.
The woman was taken to hospital where she was examined by a doctor and later released.

Police Investigates the Death of a Woman
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman that occurred on Saturday.
Preliminary reports are, that shortly after 1 a.m., several persons were involved in an argument at a bar on Gladstone Road, which resulted in a man and a woman being struck by a vehicle.
Both victims were rushed to hospital where the woman succumbed to her injuries and the man remains in serious condition.
A 19-year-old man is in custody assisting police with their investigations.
16 Arrested During Police Operations
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, police are reporting that 16 persons were arrested in separate operations conducted by officers from the Southwestern Division and a Special Police Operation Team yesterday.
During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, six persons were arrested for various offences such as armed robbery, stealing and threats of death.
During the operation conducted by the Special Operations Team, 10 persons were arrested for various offences such as, threats of death, stealing, house breaking, possession of dangerous drugs and fraud.
Four Men Arrested for Dangerous Drugs
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, police conducting a special operation in Yellow Elder Gardens arrested four men for possession of dangerous drugs and a large amount of cash on Saturday.
According to reports, around 3:30 p.m., a special police operations team was on patrol in Yellow Elder Gardens, when they observed four suspicious men in a silver Honda vehicle.
The police brought the vehicle to a stop and uncovered a quantity of marijuana along with a large amount of cash suspected to be the proceeds of crime. The four suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
