Police arrested a 26-year-old woman Saturday in connection with the alleged stabbing death of her father.
According to reports, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Saturday, the victim was involved in an argument with his daughter at his home on Silver Palm Boulevard in the Imperial Park area resulting in him being stabbed multiple times.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim is believed to be College of The Bahamas lecturer Anthony Butler, a well known member of the Valley Boys Junkanoo Group.
An officer from the Central Detective Unit arrested the suspect shortly after the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
Weekend Shootings leave four in Hospital
Two people are today in hospital after several shootings in the capital over the weekend.
In the first incident, a man was shot while driving in the Pinewood Gardens area.
According to reports, shortly before 11:00 p.m., a man was driving in his vehicle on Bay Geranium Avenue and Pinewood Drive, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot.
The victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed a short distance away.
He was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
And in the second incident, another shooting but, in the Englerston area, has left another man in hospital.
Reports are that shortly before 7:00pm, the victim was standing in front of a home on Ida Street, when the occupants of a Honda vehicle approached and shot him before speeding off.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police Search for Armed Thieves
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two suspects responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on Monday.
Reports are that shortly after 1:00 a.m., the victim was standing in front of a home located on East Street South, when two men armed with a handgun approached and robbed him of cash and a cell phone before fleeing on foot.
Investigations are ongoing.
