The Progressive Liberal Party officially welcomed a new member, Attorney Wayne Munroe, to its organization on Monday.
Munroe, who ran unsuccessfully in the 2012 general elections as a DNA candidate in the Mount Moriah constituency, received a warm embrace by the party.
Chairman of the PLP Bradley Roberts said in an interview yesterday that Munroe brings much to the table and would be an asset to the party.
Among his attributes Roberts says Munroe offers insightful commentary on any number of topical issues regarding law, public policy or public affairs.
“I expect that brother Munroe would inspire other young Bahamians male and female to follow the course that he has taken,” Roberts said.
“The PLP has a sound and historic record of harnessing the skills, knowledge and talents of young Bahamians through public service to further the national developmental objectives of our great country. We are confident that this noble legacy will continue with the addition of Mr. Munroe to our team. Our bench is certainly deepened and strengthened as a result.”
Roberts added that Munroe’s decision to join the PLP was one that was reciprocated throughout the party.
Coming from humble beginnings Roberts added that Munroe became one of the greatest legal minds at the Bahamas Bar and a successful businessman.
All of these qualities he asserts would enhance the framework of the PLP.
Roberts added that “the PLP has a big jet” and all are welcomed.
“We believe Mr. Munroe’s keen intellect, love of country and public service will serve both our party and country very well,” he said.
