Two Americans, a man and a woman attempting to leave the country, with a large sum of cash were arrested at the Lynden Pindling International Airport on Wednesday.
The U.S citizens were taken into custody by authorities for failing to declare a large sum of U.S currency.
According to police reports, shortly after 4:00pm, the couple presented themselves to a U.S Border Control Officer at LPIA, for travel into Florida, but failed to declare to U.S Customs the true amount of cash in their possession.
The officers conducted a search of the couple and found them to be in possession of money in excess of $10,000.00.
They were subsequently arrested and handed over to the police and are expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court this week.
This comes one month after a 36-year-old male U.S citizen was arrested for failing to declare $72,616.00 cash. He was subsequently charged before the courts and his monies confiscated.
