Three American men perished in a plane crash in bushes on the island of Eleuthera yesterday.
Police on the island say a twin engine Cessna aircraft crashed in bushes off Rock Sound International Airport.
The aircraft departed Rock Sound shortly after 3pm enroute to Fort Pierce, Florida, USA.
The aircraft had reportedly crashed in rough terrain making it difficult for authorities to reach. When authorities and others arrived at the site, they reportedly discovered that the three men were dead with two of them burnt beyond recognition.
Officials of the in the Bahamas are reportedly making efforts to locate the next of kin of the men. However, the names of the victims have not been released.
a team from the Department of Civil Aviation left New Providence this morning for Eleuthera to start investigations of the crash.
