The teen girl that escaped police custody this past summer was back in court yesterday.
The 15-year-old girl jumped out of the Grove Police Station window while in custody after she was caught trying to rob a clothing store in the town center mall.
Last month, Acting Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt ordered that the girl be given a psychiatric evaluation while she was being held at her majesty’s prison.
However, the magistrate said she had yet to receive a report.
The girl said since being in custody she was only seen once by a psychiatrist, which the magistrate called, “unfortunate.”
Her attorney Jeff Lloyd reminded the court that his client is a student and is missing school.
So he asked that she be returned to the custody of her parents and allowed to be visited by the Department of Social Services.
However, the magistrate said the only thing she could do is try to quickly get an evaluation done by Friday so that she can return home and to school; otherwise she would remain on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison until October 7th for a court hearing.
