Homicide detectives have arrested one person and identified another in connection with the stabbing death of an Eleuthera teen this past weekend as the hunt continues for others believed to be behind the crime.
According to police, 18-year-old Haywood Thompson’s lifeless body was found in an unfinished building on TW Alley and Culmer Street, North Palmetto Point around 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Authorities said Thompson had multiple stab wounds about the body.
An 18-year-old suspect of Palmetto Point, Eleuthera was arrested shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday but police are now searching for 22-year-old Rex Rahming also of Palmetto Point in connection with the crime.
The matter remains under active investigation.
In other crime news:
Two 17-year-old males were arrested shortly after 6:00 a.m. Monday in connection with a murder on Constitution Drive back on April 28.
The victim – 18-year-old Braven Hanna – was reportedly approached by a gunman around 9:00 that evening.
He was shot in the head before the suspect fled on foot in the direction of nearby Eden Street. Hanna died on the scene, according to police.
Club Shooting
Meantime, a 27-year-old man’s in custody following an early morning incident that has left another man nursing wounds in hospital.
Police say they got a call about a man being shot at a local nightclub on Deveaux and East Bay Streets just before 3:00 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they met the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
At last report, that man was in serious condition in hospital.
Police arrested the suspected shooter a short time later.
