A suspect has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of an ICS armoured vehicle on Thursday.
Head of the Central Detective Unit (CDU) Superintendent Paul Rolle confirmed to The Journal that the 23-year-old male suspect was brought into CDU around 4:00 p.m. Friday.
Superintendent Rolle believes once the suspect is interviewed he will be able to provide some critical information as to his involvement and assist officers in their investigations.
Meantime the search continues for the other suspect involved in the heist which occurred Thursday during a pick up at Burger King’s Cable Beach location.
According to police, two ICS security guards were accosted by two gunmen who ordered them out of the armoured vehicle.
The two culprits then drove off in the vehicle, which was later found on Hampshire Street, West Bay Street.
There is still no word on how much money was stolen, but it is believed to be quite a substantial amount as several pickups were made.
