Search Continues For Two Missing People

Despite growing speculation over social media, police continue to classify the mysterious disappearance of a man and woman in Andros as a missing person’s investigation.

Triska Nadia Braynen, 28, of Cargill Creek, Central Andros and 49-year-old Immigration Officer Shane Gardiner of Love Hill, Central Andros were last seen on Saturday afternoon.

Since their disappearance, there has been speculation that it is the result of foul play.

There have also been reports that Braynen’s vehicle was found at Gardiner’s home which had allegedly been vandalised.

However, Superintendent of Police Stephen Dean said police are early into their investigation and the matter is still being identified as a missing person’s case.

“All of these things being posted on social media sites are unknown to police,” he said. “That is why we are appealing to members of the public who may have any information about the whereabouts of these two people to contact us and let us know whatever it is.”

Superintendent Dean also confirmed that a team of detectives from the Central Detective Unit (CDU) has traveled to the island to lead the investigation.
