The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) recently announced that it is sponsoring the upcoming 42nd Bahamas Red Cross Society Ball.
The annual ball has become the kickoff event of the Bahamian social calendar year.
It marks the first major fundraiser of each year for the Red Cross.
The Red Cross Ball offers good food, entertainment and the opportunity to raise much needed funds for a worthwhile cause. The charity gala is crucial to the continued success of the many social outreach programmes developed and sustained by the Bahamas Red Cross.
The 42nd Bahamas Red Cross Society Ball will take place on Saturday, January 25 at the Meliã Hotel, Cable Beach, under the theme “Rhapsody in Blue.”
“We recognise that over the last several years the demand for the services of the Red Cross has increased tremendously. On behalf of the community we wish to thank the Red Cross executive team and volunteers for their selfless service to the community,” said RBC Manager of Public Relations and Communication Jan Knowles.
“RBC also pledges its continued support to the Red Cross throughout the year as we work together to uplift disadvantaged persons throughout our society.”
Bahamas Red Cross Society Director General, Caroline Turnquest thanked RBC.
“RBC’s support helps us to provide necessary assistance to the most vulnerable among us. We provide services and have programmes that require ongoing funding to ensure continuity as persons rely on them for their survival,” she said.
“We are ever grateful for the support of the public and will ensure that we maintain the high standard of trust that they have put in us.”
Tickets are available at the Red Cross’ headquarters on John F. Kennedy Drive or by calling 323-7370 or 328-4415.
