A prison officer he was arraigned on Friday in a Magistrate’s Court for possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply.
Fifty-one-year –old, Ervin Miller of Pinewood Gardens was arrested on Wednesday shortly after he reported for duty at Her Majesty’s Prison. Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit seized three ounces of Indian hemp as well as more than $700 from Miller which they believe are the proceeds of the crime.
In court he pleaded guilty after nearly fifteen minutes of silence, indecisiveness and begging to see his family.
Miller was then remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.
Due to Miller being a prison officer, the court ensured that a note would be sent to the Commissioner of the Prison to take all necessary precautions in regards to his safety.
The matter has been adjourned to February 16, 2015.
