their respective sport fields.

during the Office of the Prime Minister’s weekly press briefing.
“A highlight of National Sports Heritage Month is the National Hall of Fame
Inductee Ceremony. The list of persons are as follows; our very own Prime
Minister Philip “Brave” Davis, Gary Bain, Oswald Brown, Nelson Chipman,
Linda Ford, Kendal Isaacs, Barbara Knowles, Randy Rolle, Randolph Swaby,
Steven Hanna, Neko Grant, Don Knowles, Douglas “Dougie” Collins, Aurthur
Reggie Knowles, and the Woman’s Softball Team 1981 Bronze Medallists.”
He added, “National Sports Heritage month cultivates a sense of unity and
appreciation within the community and highlights that sports extend beyond
competition and provides opportunity for Bahamians to come together and
honour sporting achievements, inspire future generations, and promote a culture
of fitness and well-being throughout the nation.”
Minister Bowleg gave more information on the sports award ceremony to be
held tomorrow.
“The National Sports Awards is another key event of the heritage month,
scheduled for this Saturday November 9th. This award ceremony will highlight
and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Bahamian athletes, teams,
coaches, and sports organizations over the past year. The ceremony is a
reminder that excellence in sports is apart of national pride, encouraging
Bahamians to rally behind their athletes and celebrate their accomplishments on
both national and international stage.”
The month of festivities began with a free workout session on Monday at the
Kendal G.L Isaacs gymnasium and the workouts will continue until November
30th, 2024. Amongst this workout schedule the ministry will be hosting a few
“Lunch n Learn” sessions engaging the public on the sports industry in The
Bahamas.
