A police officer and a man he was trying to arrest both received injuries early Sunday morning during an operation.
According to police reports it was shortly after 2:00 a.m. when a team of officers was conducting an operation at Baillou Hill Road South when the officers signalled the driver of a car to stop.
However the driver refused to comply and attempted to drive off in the direction of the officers, injuring one of the officers.
Reports are that the police officer received minor juries, after the driver of that vehicle struck him down as he attempted to evade them.
The officer’s partners then fired several shots at the vehicle hitting the driver to the hand and thigh.
The officer’s injuries are listed as non-life threatening while the 34-year-old suspect is detained in hospital in stable condition.
Man Stabs His Brother To The Head
According to reports, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday two brothers were involved in an altercation at their home located in Deep Creek, Eleuthera that resulted in one of the brothers being stabbed twice to the head.
The victim was taken to the local clinic, where the islands local doctor treated him for his injuries.
The suspect who was later arrested also received injuries to his hand.
The victim and suspect were transported to New Providence early yesterday morning for further medical treatment.
