As investigations into the murder of 34-year-old tourist Kyle Bruner continue, a top police officer said authorities are being led to question more and more people believed to be involved in the case.
Police are now questioning four men in connection with the shooting death of the Chicago native and are on the hunt for another.
Officers from the Selective Enforcement Team arrested the fourth suspect, a 21-year-old male of Apache Alley off Kemp Road around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday.
On Monday officers from the Mobile Division arrested 19-year-old Antone Bastian of Abraham Street and a 20-year-old male of Clarke Alley off Abraham Street.
The day before a third male, a 28-year-old resident of St. James Road was arrested.
Police are continuing their search for 18-year-old Leo Bethel of Balls Alley, Shirley Street whom they also want to question in connection with this incident.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anthony Ferguson explained that so many arrests have been made in this case because investigations are leading them to suspect that a number of people had something to do with the murder.
He added that their police investigations have to undergo a tough process to identify all involved.
ACP Ferguson said a part of this process sometimes involves questioning a large number of people in order to narrow them down.
He said although initially police were only looking for two suspects, as the investigation progressed they started questioning three other people’s involvement.
He added that the suspects could officially be charged in court as early as today.
