Police now believe that the vehicle that struck and killed a man early Sunday morning was the same vehicle driven by the suspects believed to be behind two weekend murders that occurred hours apart.
According to reports, sometime around 1:30 a.m. a 20-year-old male resident of Lyon Road left his sister’s home through Strachan’s Alley to walk to his home.
As he got into the area of Parkgate Road, he was struck by a silver Honda Accord.
The occupants of the Honda later set the vehicle on fire.
Police believe that shortly before this incident, the occupants of this vehicle killed a 22-year-old male resident of Lyon Road in the Wulff Road area.
He has been identified by family members as Charles Davis alias Siddam.
According to police, Davis was walking on Johnson Alley off Wulff Road when four men in a silver Honda Accord drove through the corner.
One of the men exited the vehicle and discharged several shots at Davis striking him multiple times about the body.
According to family members, Davis was shot eight times.
EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported Davis to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he died a short time later.
Meanwhile, just hours earlier police were called to the scene where a 20-year-old man was killed sometime around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The man, who is a resident of Avocado Street in Pinewood Gardens, was sitting among a group of men on a wall on Avocado Street when some men approached in a car, rolled down the window and discharged several shots into the group.
The victim was struck to the neck.
EMS personnel were called to the scene and transported the victim to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he died a short time later.
Investigations into all these incidents continue.
