Four young men face jailtime after New Providence police discovered two illegal firearms this weekend.
According to reports, the Police Flying Squad officers on routine patrol stopped the occupants of a silver vehicle.
Officers conducted a search and recovered a black .45 pistol containing 18 rounds of ammunition and a silver and black .45 pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition.
While searching one of the men, officers recovered a magazine with 8 rounds of ammunition.
The men were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before the magistrate court thisweek.
New Providence police also investigate a shooting leaving a men dead.
Reports said that shortly after 5am on Saturday,police received word of gunshots coming from a residence on Abner Street in Fox Hill.
Officers discovered a male lying on the floor of his home with gunshots wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene, however investigations are ongoing.
Police are also investigating an attempted armed robbery and stabbing.
According to reports, shortly after 2pm on Friday, the victim was approached by two males on John Road with knives attempting to rob him.
After a struggle ensued, the victim was stabled multiple times.
He was since transported to hospital and is listed in serious condition. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
In other crime news, Police are investigating a shooting Sunday leaving three men hospitalized.
In the first incident, reports said that shortly after 4:00pm, four men were driving in a car on Hay street, when the occupants of a silver vehicle opened fire in their direction injuring one of them.
The men were able to drive the victim to hospital, where he is now listed in stable condition. An adult male standing on the nearby park, received minor injuries, but declined medical attention.
In the second incident, reports say that shortly before 1 am yesterday, two men were driving on Alexandria Boulevard, Nassau Village, when occupants of a gold car opened fire in their direction, injuring both.
The injured men drove to a nearby residence and were assisted to hospital, where they are listed in serious but stable condition. Investigations are ongoing.
