Police Join Forces With The Church

Police officials ventured into Nassau Street to speak with some residents yesterday.

Deemed another crime spot, this time they trekked along the community with the backing of the church.

Co-chair of Urban Renewal Development Cynthia “Mother” Pratt announced that it is time to turn to God as only he can save our country.

“We are hosting what we term a prayer vigil,” said Mrs. Pratt.

“We are going to every constituency in New Providence. “

She also stressed that it be known what is going on in the country is a spiritual battle.

After a brief prayer a contingency of officers along with Mrs. Pratt and co-chair Algernon Allen accompanied her during the walk in the community.

Mr. Allen says that Mrs.Pratt is a true servant of God and he was more than happy to lend his support.

“We are seeking to summons the armies of good,” said Allen “We just ask that throughout this next 30 days for everyone to say a prayer for this nation because we need help.”

They spoke with residents who were most elated that the officers were passing through as it made them feel much safer.

Clara Miller, 30, says “I was so proud when I saw you all, it makes me feel like the criminals will think twice before they attempt to do mischief.”

Superintendent Stephen Dean said he also believes that these unions with the church will yield very positive results.

“We are still being blighted by incidents of crime and based on experience a spiritual application must be applied.”

They too believe with prayer and the Christian Council they have a big benefit and interventions will be made.

Superintendent Dean also pointed out that the nation seems to have moved from attending church and says that many residents are not, as young as five.

The prayer vigils will start and touch all 28 constituencies within the capitol.

Monday and continue until the country’s 40th independence celebrations.
