Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander says the suspects they had in custody in relation to a song have been released.
On Friday, the chief superintendent said they had two suspects in custody in relation to a derogatory song filled with explicit language which speaks negatively about Prime Minister Perry Christie, his family and the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
When asked as to what charges would be brought against the producers of the song, Fernander said they were working with the Attorney General’s Office to determine that.
He also made it clear that charges will be brought against the perpetrator.
The song which has been shared in abundance mostly on WhatsApp and other social media platforms started circulating earlier last week.
The Free National Movement and the Democratic National Alliance have both denounced the song and said they do not support what the song stands for.
Fernander said officials keep the public abreast of any leads in the future.
