The Progressive Liberal Party announced yesterday that it planning to launch its 52nd national general convention from November 1 – 7.
Under the theme ‘Transforming the Nation for the Next Generation,’ officials said they are thrilled about the much anticipated event.
“Party delegates can expect an exciting and progressive convention, centered on new and innovative ideas, policy considerations, emerging programs and critical national issues,” said Minister of Labour and National Insurance Shane Gibson.
Mr. Gibson, who is also the co-chair of the convention committee said, the event will give thousands of party supporters and observers an opportunity to hear from party leaders on their vision for the country’s future, in particular efforts to create economic opportunities for future generations of Bahamians.
The week will be launched with a special prayer breakfast and end with the installation ball on November 7.
Day sessions will be closed and will focus on critical issues facing the nation, the party’s plans for the remainder of its term and future plans.
The night sessions will be open and will focus on policy issues and the government’s agenda.
This will be the party’s first convention in six years.
