The government is set to roll out new recommendations on how to best to tackle the decades’ long issue of flooding in the Pinewood Gardens area.
Prime Minister Perry Christie said Tuesday that his government has been analysing prior reports on how to solve this flooding issue.
“I’ve had some consultants recently who analysed Pinewood I think we have released insights for people like Pinewood and that specific area where there are going be a specific set of recommendations made that will relieve this real challenge of flooding they have there.”
In late May heavy rainstorms brought on massive flooding for most parts of New Providence, particularly Pinewood Gardens that saw 13 inches of rainfall.
Areas in eastern New Providence also suffered the massive flooding.
“We will have people look at this in real microscopic way,” he added.
“We feel we are on to something very real and in a short period from now we will be able to give indications of the steps we are going to take to bring relief most specifically in the Pinewood area.”
