Arthur Carey, 31, of West Street, and 26-year-old Godfrey Minnis of Rupert Dean Lane, were brought before Chief Magistrate Joyanne Ferguson Pratt to be charged with that deadly shooting in Bain Town two weeks ago.
At the time, the inner-city community was having a “Bring Back The Peace” party when a number of men opened fire on the crowd, injuring seven and killing one.
One survivor described it as pure pandemonium.
The gunmen reportedly fled the scene on foot.
In court on Tuesday, the men were charged with the murder of Tervorin Johnson and the attempted murder of seven others – in total eight counts of charges.
When asked if they had anything to say, Minnis told the magistrate that the police didn’t even hear any alibies from neither his girlfriend nor his cousin.
Meantime Carey alleged that he had asked to contact his lawyer on numerous occasions, but that those requests went unanswered by police.
The magistrate then reminded officers that the accused must be allowed to speak with a lawyer immediately.
Also appearing in court on Tuesday was Dyon Henry aka “Studda”.
The 22-year-old was charged with the murder of Robert McIntosh.
McIntosh was shot multiple times about the body in Nassau Village on august 31.
The three men were not required to enter a plea to the charges and were denied bail.
They will return to court on March 13.
