Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers conducted a major operation in New Providence last Friday that led to the arrest of nine persons for possession of dangerous drugs.

In the first incident, shortly after 6 a.m., DEU officers in operation on Hibiscus Street executed a search warrant on a home where they uncovered just over one pound of marijuana.

Police said a female and two male occupants of the home were subsequently taken into custody.

In the second incident, around 6:30 a.m., DEU officers in operation on Spikenard Road executed a search warrant on home where they uncovered eight pounds of marijuana.

According to police, a female and two male occupants of the home were subsequently taken into custody.

In the final incident, shortly after 10 a.m., DEU officers in operation on Moncur Alley executed a search warrant on home where they uncovered just over two ounces of marijuana.

Police said a female and two male occupants of the home were subsequently taken into custody.
