A new talk show has joined the line up of programmes on Love 97 FM and less than a month since it premiered the show has already gained quite a following.

Primetime Live with Host Independent Thinker is a 90-minute weekly show that addresses topical national issues and engages callers in spirited discussion.

Thinker, whose real name is Marlon Johnson, was an avid caller on the local talk show circuit before starting a show of his own. He said his show dives deep into the issues and he ensures that content is heavily researched.

“If you’re looking for entertainment that’s some of the other shows, I deal strictly with facts,” Mr. Johnson said. “I also use sound bytes in my show. I do research on the issues that I find important and I just deal in facts.”

The show is growing in popularity and already Thinker has landed interviews with Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) Chairman Leslie Miller and attorney Wayne Munroe.

He said at this particular time many Bahamians are feeling hopeless and there is growing frustration with the country’s leadership – sentiments he said that will be highlighted on his shows.

“We offer ideas and solutions to the problems the Bahamian people face,” Mr. Johnson said. “The problems people face are sometimes overshadowed as a result of what is going on and sometimes they go unheard or unspoken.

“I also feel that many people are going along doing the same thing over and over because they are uninformed or uneducated about what’s happening and their issues are sometimes just passed by and not given the deep look they deserve.”

Primetime Live with Independent Thinker airs each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on Love 97 FM.
