Nassau Listed Among World’s Most Unfriendly Cities

The city of Nassau did not fare well in Conde Nast Travelers’ annual survey, earning the title of one of the least friendly cities in the world.

In the report released several weeks ago, Nassau, Bahamas ranked number 10 on the list.

Johannesburg, South Africa ranked number one, being rated the most unfriendly cities in the world.

The results of Conde Nast Traveler’s readers’ choice survey aren’t scientific because it is an online survey that anyone can take.

However, thousands of people participate each year.

The survey ranks hotels, cruises, beaches, and cities.

According to Conde Naste, Nassau was ranked unfriendly by readers who say although the city has “wonderful beaches” and great bars, the lack of infrastructure and activity immediately outside the well-trodden tourist areas turned them off.

Visitors in their assessments recommended staying on site at one of the big hotels, noting that the city itself tends to be somewhat unsafe.

Readers said they did not feel safe walking around outside the tourist areas and found Nassau to be nice but very mundane and depressing.

Other cities listed as unfriendly are Paris, Beijing and Milan.
