A man who was stabbed at a club along East Sunrise Highway in Grand Bahama has died in hospital, pushing the country’s murder count to 81 for the year.
The victim, who has still not been identified, died at 8:22 p.m. on Sunday at the Rand Memorial Hospital.
Police said the victim was involved in an altercation early Sunday morning and was subsequently stabbed multiple times about the body.
He was then taken to the hospital in a private car where he later died, police said.
Abaco Homicide Victim Identified
Police have also identified the man who was shot and killed at an Abaco motel and later died in a local clinic early Sunday morning as Gregory Bain.
Police said Bain got into an argument with a group of men around 4:00 a.m. at a Sandy Point motel.
Someone in the group later opened fire on the victim, police said.
The man was later taken to a local clinic in a private car; however, police said he died at 10:00 a.m. at the Sandy Point Government Clinic.
Around this same time last year, the country’s murder count stood at 92.
