A 31-year-old Flamingo Gardens man is in police custody in connection with a gruesome murder in Devil’s Point, Cat Island.
Mobile Division officers arrested the suspect on Saturday shortly before 8:00 p.m.
Police want to grill him over Fordace Moncur’s death.
Moncur was chopped to death and burnt.
Police found his body on a dirt road after residents complained of a foul odour emanating from bushes in the area.
Moncur, 45, was last spotted on October 5 when he left his home to go to the Laundromat.
Police are still trying to determine a motive for Moncur’s murder.
Meantime, a 39-year-old man was stabbed Sunday night.
Police said the victim was walking in the Market and Lewis Streets area when two women and a man approached him and stabbed him multiple times.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.
