The man gunned down in the Yamacraw Beach Estates area late Monday night has been identified as Cleophas Clarke and the Bahama Journal has learnt that he was a murder suspect out on bail.

Clarke, 20, was found dead outside a residence on Carter Close, Yamacraw Beach Estates with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Sources have also informed the Journal that Clarke faced additional criminal charges from a string of previous offenses.

Authorities are tight-lipped on the investigation into this latest homicide but confirm that a suspect is expected to be charged in connection with this matter sometime this week.

This homicide marks the country’s 88th murder for the year.
