A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed yesterday morning during a traffic mishap.
According to investigators, the incident happened around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday involving a black 2002 Nissan Maxima and a black and blue Yamaha motorbike.
Police said both vehicles were traveling west on Queen’s Highway, Pine Forest, Eight Mile Rock when the driver of the motorcycle collided with the rear of the Maxima.
Both vehicles were damaged and the motorcyclist was injured.
The victim was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
Meantime, the driver of the Maxima was unharmed.
This latest tragedy has again pushed the police to renew an appeal to the public to adhere to the rules of the road and to drive with care and attention.
