Mackenzie Dorestin, 25, of College Gardens was arraigned and charged on Monday for unlawfully threatening police officers.
He made death threats to police last Thursday.
Dorestin appeared before Magistrate Constantine Delancey in court number two with tears in his eyes as he pleaded for mercy regarding bail, which was denied pending his immigration status.
Dorestin told Magistrate Delancey that he had a daughter and had a driver’s license and birth certificate to prove he was legal.
The magistrate however told him that those documents did not authenticate his immigration status.
On August 20, Dorestin sent graphic threats via social media that eventually made their way to authorities.
Dorestin was subsequently arrested and charged with unlawfully threatening police officers.
Having been denied bail, Dorestin was remanded to prison until he returns to court on September 14.
