A man’s bullet riddled body was found through a service road in Yellow Elder Gardens Tuesday night, authorities said, pushing the homicide count to 85 for the year.
This latest homicide is the second for the week.
The victim has been identified as Lamar Bain, 19, a Yellow Elder resident.
Police said gunshots rang out around 10:00 p.m. on a service road off Major’s Road.
When officers arrived on the scene they found Bain’s body on the ground.
Police have not specified how many times Bain was shot or which parts of the body were injured.
The police have not identified a motive for the shooting; however, they are questioning three men in connection with this recent incident.
Meanwhile, officers are still investigating the shooting death of another man.
Jasnell Edward Roberts was gunned down Monday night while playing dominoes in front of a Hospital Lane home.
A gunman approached Roberts and shot him in the head. The suspect later fled the scene on foot.
The 29-year-old Hampster Road resident was taken to hospital for treatment, however, he died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Drug Arrest
A 36-year-old man was taken into police custody Tuesday night after he was allegedly busted with drugs, police said.
Police said they were patrolling West End Avenue around 9:00 p.m. when they spotted the suspect acting suspiciously.
A search revealed a quantity of cocaine and the man was subsequently arrested.
