Less than 24 hours after a cold blooded daylight murder of a 19 year old man on Tuesday, police were on the scene of another young man gunned down in the capital.
Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander said officers received the call shortly after 10:00 p.m. in the area of Windsor Park off Wulff Road.
Officers say on arrival they met the lifeless body of a male who appeared to be in his late 20s.
“The only information we have at this time is the individual was riding his bicycle west on Wulff road. As he got in the area of the park, he was approached by unknown persons who shot him and fled. We don’t have a motive at this time. We have uniformed officers on the ground to investigate the matter,” said Mr. Fernander.
The victim was later identified by the police as Jason Green.
When the Bahama Journal arrived on the scene green was lying next to his bicycle, which he had been riding when the incident occurred.
Officers are appealing to the public for any assistance in this case.
“We would like to take this time to appeal to the public, anyone who may have been in the area to come forward with what they might have seen to assist with this investigation,” said Mr. Fernander.
Earlier that morning, around 9:00 a.m. 19 year old Kenyari Lightbourn was walking on Woods Alley when he was gunned down by another male armed with a handgun.
This latest incident brings the country’s murder count to 58.
