A 40-year-old man of Balls Alley became the country’s 63rd murder victim of the year after he was gunned down early yesterday morning.
The incident reportedly occurred around 2:55 a.m. at a club located on Bay and Armstrong Streets.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim got into an altercation with a group of people and was subsequently shot multiple times.
He was taken to hospital by private vehicle where he was pronounced dead. This was the fourth murder to occur within the last 72-hours.
Early Saturday morning two men were gunned down as they left a business establishment on Wulff Road.
Reports indicate that it was shortly after 4:00 a.m. that the men were getting in to a vehicle on Wulff Road when they were approached by two armed men.
The men attempted to flee the scene when the men opened fired hitting the driver.
The passenger got out the vehicle and attempted to flee but he two was shot by one of the gunmen.
The two men have been identified as 59-year-old Ernesto Cartwright and 41-year-old Shawn Daxon.
Another man was killed early Sunday morning during an altercation at his apartment on Jack Fish Drive off Carmichael Road.

According to reports, the man got into an altercation with another man resulting in both men being stabbed multiples times.
The victim died on the scene while the other man remains in hospital in serious condition.
Police are also investigating a shooting that has left a 22-year-old man of Wulff Road in hospital.
Preliminary reports indicate that around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the victim was at a Bar and Grill, in Gambier Village when he was approached by an unknown male and subsequently shot to the abdomen.
He was taken to hospital by private vehicle where he is detained in critical condition.
Police are searching for a male responsible for shooting a teen boy.
The incident reportedly occurred around 11:00 p.m. Saturday.
Preliminary reports indicate that the 17-year-old victim was in the area of West Street when he was approached and subsequently shot to the leg by a man known to him.

The victim was taken to hospital by private vehicle where he is detained in stable condition.
Police are investigating all these incidents and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information regarding this incidents to them.
Last Thursday, Commission of Police Ellison Greenslade released the latest crime figures that show a decline in the number of murders in the first half of 2013 over the same period last year.
In 2012, there were 74 murders recorded over the same period and in 2013, there have been 63 murders so far for the year.
