Police in Grand Bahama are investigating the death of a 74-year-old male who drowned at a beach on Wednesday.

According to police, shortly before 5 p.m., the lifeless body of a male was discovered floating in waters on Xanadu Beach.

Police and EMS personnel were called to the scene where they met the lifeless body of a male on shore. CPR was administered to the man by EMS personnel.

He was then transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead by doctor.

Police are investigating this matter.
